Health Issues Caused by Testosterone Deficiency
Because testosterone affects bone mass, energy levels, fat distribution, fertility, muscle mass and sex drive, lack of this male hormone can negatively impact many areas of your life. If you think you are experiencing low testosterone levels, you are not alone. More than one in three men over the age of 45 suffers from testosterone deficiency. While women experience a lack of estrogen production during menopause, men experience a gradual loss of testosterone beginning in their 30s. About fifty percent of men have low testosterone levels by the time they reach their 80s.
If you suffer from diabetes, high blood pressure or obesity, you are twice as likely to suffer from testosterone deficiency. The following health issues will also increase your chances of suffering from testosterone deficiency: asthma, high cholesterol and prostate disease.
Even though doctors are more often treating men in their 30s and older for testosterone deficiency, this health concern can occur at all stages of a man's life: birth, puberty and adulthood. If you've noticed any of the following symptoms, please contact our office today for a consultation:

Does a low testosterone level cause the signs and symptoms of aging?

What are the potential benefits of Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT)?
Some of the potential benefits of TRT include: a boost to your energy level, a decrease in your irritability or depression, an increase in your bone mineral density, an improvement in your muscle mass and strength, an improvement in your sexual desire and thicker body hair.
Clinical Information
What type of testosterone do you use?
Shape Medical Wellness Center uses testosterone cypionate. This is an injectable, bio-identical testosterone.
Where is the injection given?
We inject the testosterone in the gluteal muscle on alternating sides with each injection.
How often will I need an injection?
We schedule injections every 7-10 days.
How do I qualify for Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT)?
Shape Medical Wellness Center will administer a simple blood test to reveal your testosterone levels. The results from this test are generally available within 24 hours.
Does TRT stimulate my body's natural production of testosterone?
The TRT does not simulate your body to produce more testosterone. We are supplementing what your body is not producing on its own.
How long does TRT continue?
TRT may continue indefinitely.
